As Large size Hydro Projects have negative impact on Eco-logical systems and so Go I always promotes Micro/ Mini Hydro Projects which can be installed with less effect on surrounding and is a part of ‘Renewable Source of Energy’.

These projects can be installed with less civil work and negligible impact on environmental issues. In 2015, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has increased the subsidy amount to over 3 times on previous subsidy for the rapid development of below 100 kW projects.

In the most countries the government realizes the economic benefits and the pressing environmental issues and therefore gives more attention to micro power plants and offer some special policies and benefits for investments.

Range of Micro Hydro Projects – Any Hydro Project of less than 100 kW capacity.

Range of Mini Hydro Projects – Any Hydro Project between the range of 100 kW to 2 MW.
